The Free Democrat says: Thomas Webb was passing the evening in the company of a widow and two daughters in Leopold, Indiana, recently when a Dr. Christian, impelled by jealousy, rushed into the room and stabbed the unoffending man with a bowie knife. A substance, wrapped in a paper in a vest pocket, prevented the knife from doing its deadly work, and unromantic as it is, it must be said this 'substance' was a plug of tobacco.
